O presente estudo fornece informação preliminar sobre aminoácidos livres detectados no musculo, hepatopâncreas e gonadas de lagostas das espécies Panulirus argus e Panulirus laevicauda. Quantativamente, os aminoácidos glicina, arginina, taurina e alanina foram, de maneira geral, os mais importantes(Tables I e II). Os aminoácidos arginina e glicina se apresentaram mais abundantes no músculo, enquanto taurina e glicina e em terceiro lugar a arginina foram predominantes no hepatopâncreas e gonadas. O conteúdo de alanina foi maior no hepatopâncreas e gônadas do que no músculo.

This study gives preliminary information on the free aminoacids detected in the muscle, midgut gland and gonads of the spiny lobsters Panulirus argus e Panulirus laevicauda. Quantitatively, the most important aminoacids in general were glicine, arginine, taurine and alanine (Tables I and II). Arginine and glicine were the most abundant aminoacids in the muscle, whereas taurine, glicine and in third place arginine were found to prevail in the gonads and midgut gland. The alanine content was higher in the midgut gland and gonads than in the muscle.
