Resumo
Foram realizadas coletas mensais de Plagusia depressa em Tamandaré, Pernambuco, durante o período de setembro de 2001 a agosto de 2002, num total de 1.200 indivíduos, sendo 619 (51,6%) machos e 581 (48,4%) fêmeas. O comprimento do cefalotórax dos machos variou entre 12 mm e 50 mm, com média de 35,4 mm; as fêmeas variaram entre 18 mm e 49 mm, com média de 30,3 mm. As fêmeas ovígeras participaram, em média, com 69,2%, com picos em julho e outubro. O comprimento do cefalotórax das fêmeas ovígeras variou de 21 mm a48 mm, com média de 38 mm.
Abstract
Biological samples of the cliff crab, Plagusia depressa, stock were taken off Tamandaré, Pernambuco State, from September, 2001 to August, 2002, totalling 1,200 individuals, out of which 619 (51.6%) were males and 581 (48.4%) females. The carapace lengths of males and females varied in the ranges of 12 - 50 mm (average of 35.4 mm) and 18 - 49 mm (average of 30.3 mm), respectively. Mature females contributed with 69.2% of the reproductive stock, with higher frequencies in July and October, and their carapace length varied from 21 mm to 48 mm, averaging at 38.0 mm. Recruitment seems to be of the bimodal type, with peaks of occurrence in April – May and October – December.
