JICA’s Terminal Evaluation Mission recommends project extension

The terminal evaluation mission, which consists of members from JICA, Ministry of the Environment (MMA), and Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC) for joint-evaluation between Japanese and Brazilian Governments, presented their evaluation report on the Ecological Corridor project, and future recommendations in the 5th Joint Coordination Committee, held on October 31st at the ICMBio headquarters, in Brasília.

Mr. Sato, the leader on the mission, was impressed with the project progress in such a short period of time. “The project achieved very good results. This is actually one of the best projects in the world”, he guaranteed.

The report recommended an extension of eight months to consolidate the results of the project, this time focusing more on specific issues, such as continuation on the capacity development of municipal environmental governance, the mosaic planning and the strategic plan for the Ecological Corridor.
