The Project was invited to present the case of the creation of the Natural Monument “Canyons e Corredeiras do Rio Sono” on the Forum das Águas (Waters), representing the successful conservation initiatives in the Jalapão region.
The Project Consultant, James Possapp, presented on last Wednesday (24/10) a brief explanation on the process of discussion and approval of SMUC (Municipal System of Conservation Units) of São Félix do Tocantins as well as the subsequent creation of the first municipal conservation unit of integral protection in the Tocantins State.
In the opportunity, a video prepared by the Project was exhibited in firsthand, with the objective to publicize the initiative and inform the necessary steps to create municipal conservation units.
