MONACC Management Plan discussed in workshops

The Jalapão Region Ecological Corridor project team, responsible for the elaboration of the Natural Monument Canyons e Corredeiras do Rio Sono’s  Management Plan, promoted two workshops aimed to proceed with preparation of the final document, due to be delivered in late November.

A technical workshop held in Palmas on 11/10, aimed to bring together the Working Group and submit the consolidated version of the document. An updated version was again transferred to technical representatives from partner institutions for specific contributions.

After the discussion with government technicians, the team went to São Félix do Tocantins, where on 13/10, held a Participatory Planning Workshop with the local community and other interested parties. On the morning of Saturday was presented the current status of the document, followed by reconvening for the manifestation of the population of São Félix do Tocantins on this important part of the process. In the afternoon, the participants worked on the identification of small streams and watercourses located within the Natural Monument. Any questions or considerations sent to the Municipal Tourism and Environment Secretary be considered and responded appropriately.
