IBGE conducted an agricultural census in 2006, which aimed to portray the reality of Brazil Agrarian considering their inter-relationships with actors, sets, instruments and modes of action. This information, combined with the actual data of the flocks, relevant textual information and properly referenced, are those used to generate the analysis of agricultural data.

Cattle ranching developed by the settlers in the region of JalapãoSantos (2010), both livestock and agriculture in Brazil followed the mining and intensified together. Thus, it is unwise to separate analysis of these activities, since they are tied mainly in border areas, where they promote (and promote) an almost symbiotic relationship, that is of mutual benefit. Are the activities of agriculture, livestock, forestry and logging (agro silvopastoris hereafter) who employs more than in Brazil, with 17,94% of the economically active population directly involved.
