After a meeting on Friday, June 15, with project Corridor team members, Selene Sotero and Shinichiro Tsuji, the Municipal Secretary of Environment and Tourism of Mateiros, Eduardo Gomes restarted actions for the establishment of the Municipal Environment and Tourism Council.
Its formalization and the internal regiment approval is a condition for continued support from the Project, as it’s happening in Ponte Alta, Rio da Conceição and São Felix, where the project supports activities chosen by the counsellors.
A meeting for the nomination of members is scheduled for July 2nd, when should be determined the members’ roles and responsibilities, and discussed its internal regiment.
According to the Secretary Eduardo, the conservation the environment should be promoted alongside with the development of ecotourism activity in the municipality. The secretary plans to move his office to a building next to Naturatins’ office in the town square and also the creation of a museum / visitor center.
