MATURAÇÃO GONADAL DO CAMARÃO-ROSA, Farfantepenaeus subtilis (PÉREZ FARFANTE, 1967), NA REGIÃO NORTE DO BRASIL

Resumo
O presente trabalho aborda a dinâmica reprodutiva do camarão-rosa, Farfantepenaeus subtilis (Pérez Farfante, 1967), na região Norte do Brasil. Foram utilizados dados de amostragens mensais realizadas a bordo de barcos industriais da frota camaroneira que atua na área, utilizando rede-de-arrasto de fundo, no período de 2000 a 2002. Com base na análise destes dados obteve-se a composição das capturas por sexo e comprimento, o tamanho de 1ª maturação sexual das fêmeas, e informações sobre períodos de maior intensidade de reprodução e recrutamento. Em média, as fêmeas foram mais abundantes do que os manchos numa proporção 60,55% contra 39,45%. A partir da classe de comprimento 188-191 mm foram encontrados apenas indivíduos do sexo feminino. Os maiores indivíduos machos e fêmeas foram encontrados nas classes de comprimento total 185-188 mm e 230-232 mm, respectivamente. O tamanho médio a partir do qual 50% das fêmeas iniciam a maturação sexual foi estimado em 126,5mm e o tamanho de primeira maturação sexual de 135,5mm de comprimento total. Existem indicativos de dois períodos de maior ocorrência de indivíduos maduros: fevereiro - abril e julho - agosto. Nos períodos dezembro - março e agosto - outubro observa-se um maior número de indivíduos imaturos ou em estado de repouso.

The present paper was designed to deal with the sexual maturation of pink shrimp, Farfantepenaeus subtilis (Pérez Farfante, 1967), off Northern Brazil. Sampling data were obtained during commercial fishing trips in shrimp boats operating with bottom trawl nets, in years 2000 and 2002. The data were analyzed with the aim of determining the catch composition by sex, and estimating the mean total length at first sexual maturity, as well as deriving information on reproduction and recruitment most intensive temporal phases. As an average, females were shown to be more abundant than males in a proportion of 66.55% to 39.45%. As of the 188-191 mm size class only females were found in the catch. The biggest male and female individuals were found in the 185-88 mm and 230-232 mm size classes, respectively. The onset of sexual maturation occurred when females are 126.5 mm TL and the mean size of first sexual maturity was estimated as 135.5 mm TL. Two peak times of higher frequencies of mature individuals took place in February-April and July-August whereas December-March and August-October are the periods when most of the immature or spent individuals are observed in the catch.
